Homeowners in Thousand Oaks may keep no more than 2 dogs on their property. All dogs must have current rabies vaccination certificates, and possess a current dog license. A copy of the dog license must be furnished to the Thousand Oaks Homeowners Association as evidence of compliance. Unlicensed dogs will be reported to the Polk County Sheriff’s Animal Control Office. Owners are required to clean up after their dog anywhere in the community, and dogs must be on a leash when anywhere off of the owner’s property. Violators will be subject to fines.
Thousand Oaks News
Welcome to the web home of Thousand Oaks, in Davenport, Florida, a community of single family homes, situated in the north east corner of Polk County.
Please explore our site and discover all that Thousand Oaks has to offer, whether you are looking to vacation here, relocate, currently reside, or you are just interested in finding out more.
A reminder to homeowners. Trash Carts and Recycle Bins MUST be stored so that they are not visible from the street. During a recent Saturday inspection of the Community, 27 Carts were either being stored in front of the garage door, or were at the side of the house not screened by fence or shrub as required in The Association Restrictive Covenants. A notice was mailed to all homeowners in December 2010, advising that Trash Carts and Recycle Bins may be placed at curb only on Wednesday and Thursday. Violation Warning notice will be given to violators for the first offense. Subsequent violations will result in fine assessments. Everyone’s voluntary complaince would be appreciated. If your neighbor is away on Thursday, do them a favor by moving their cart to the rear of their house, if possible.

We will be having on going patrols and speed enforcement for the next several months. As stated in the annual meeting and budgeted for we will have Polk County Sheriff Deputies in the subdivision on a regular on going but random basis. In the first three weeks of the detail numerous vehicles have been stopped and ticketing for speeding on Thousand Oaks Blvd. The PSD also reported back that 3 suspicious persons were encountered and details were taken by the officers. So we are having early success in getting the traffic to slow down as well as keep potential trouble out of the subdivision. If you would like more information on the detail email us and we would be glad to share any details that we have.
Thanks, John Troutt President

Thousand Oaks has started with the new Polk Sheriff Security Details in the subdivision. For the next six months you will be seeing deputies patrolling performing radar. This will benefit us all greatly.
